ABOUT ME
Maya Barbon is an actor, writer, and producer based in New York City. She has trained at the British American Drama Academy, Great River Shakespeare Festival, and with the Staged! Acting Conservatory. She spent 3 years as a resident company member of the Ensemble Shakespeare Theater in Los Angeles. Here in NYC she is the Office Manager of Gingold Theatrical Group. She is also one of the founders of the production company Drivers Ed. Media.
Most recent credits include Fools in the Forest at Frigid NYC’s The Little Shakespeare Festival, What You Will at Ensemble Shakespeare Theater, Hakugame at the SheLA Theater Festival, The Rover at Teatro Technis in London, Love's Labour's Lost, Macbeth (u/s) and Cymbeline (u/s) at Great River Shakespeare Festival, and Much Ado about Nothing, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Macbeth, Metamorphoses, and The Government Inspector at Pomona College.
Maya received her BA in Theatre Arts with a concentration in Performance from Pitzer College. There she served as the Artistic Director of The Green Room, the biggest student theatre company on campus. She has interned with the Independent Shakespeare Co. in Los Angeles, and worked as a teaching artist with Dramatic Results in Long Beach, CA, Staged! in Portland, OR and Pomona Hope in Pomona, CA.
